Riding Together
This friend of Hiromi’s from back home in small town Japan sent her some tapes of a TV show she’d recorded there. Hiromi didn’t have access to it in the states, and they really liked it, so she sent a couple of installments of three or so videocassettes. We watched a bunch of episodes together, with Hiromi translating as things happen, and I got addicted. This was almost three years ago. Now, finally, her friend has sent more videotapes, about nine more, which adds up to a whole season or two of the show. She’s also visiting us right now, so I get to hang out with her today while Hiromi works.
We all went to the field museum yesterday..I was all set to give my usual tour of the Life Over Time paeleontology exhibit, when we found out it’s closed for revamping. Complete remodeling. It will open again in May of 2006. 2006!! They are working on a bunch of dinosaurs they collected in Madagascar, and will unveil them to the world when the whole thing is done, I imagine. Still, it’s a long ass time to wait.
