Jenny Jones
My friend Rebecca got a hookup for free tickets to the Jenny Jones Show. We went to the taping yesterday morning..
Rebecca’s friend with the show brought us into the studio a bit early..so we were the first people sitting in the audience, chilling while some of the crew hung out. She talked with us a little bit..asked how we met..Rebecca answered, “through juggling.” (She started coming to the juggling club a few months ago.) She mentioned that I’m a juggler, and that I also balance things on my face. Her friend announced “I’m going to go tell Jenny!” and disappeared.
So a bit later, after the studio was full and the warm up guy had done his funny little routine for the audience, Jenny Jones came out to say hi and what not before the actual show. Here is a transcript, to the best of my memory:
Jenny: “So where’s the guy who does tricks with his face?”
Me: “Uh..hi..” (sort of waving)
Jenny: (looks at me for a moment) “This guy has a shirt covered with skulls, and hair longer than mine is.”
(Everyone chuckles, the dj plays spooky music for a second)
Jenny: “So what do you do?”
Me: “I balance things on my face…like chairs..”
Jenny: “Will you show us?”
So I got up, I was on an aisle seat anyway, and balanced my chair. People seemed excited, Jenny chatted with me a little more about juggling and stuff during breaks later on, and all in all it went well. I have no idea if some clip of me balancing will show up anywhere on her shows or not..it wasn’t during the actual show taping, but a camera did catch it. Our seats were ideal, however, for showing up on tv. Jenny spent most of her time standing in front of us, and a little to the side. So if you chance upone the Jenny Jones show any time in the next few months, glance around for me. I’ll probably stick out, as the only gimpy-looking white metal guy there.
