Madfest

The Madison Juggling festival was the best I’ve yet attended. There were some great jugglers there, I learned some exciting new patterns. We entered several of the competitions, but didn’t win any of them. I lasted two minites in the five ball endurance competition, coming in around seventh place out of a starting pool of something over thirty. The winner, however, this eleven-or-so year old kid who’s won every five ball/club endurance I’ve seen him enter, went for thirteen minutes. The last five minutes was just him and this other dude, going at it…

The festival show rocked. A German juggling group, called Take That Out, did an amazing takout act.. Another German performer did the best two diabolo stuff I’ve ever seen.. Of course there was also the usual craziness: flaming marshmallows, a guy putting a scorpion down his pants, etc. A great show.

Rest of Christmas

After hangin’ in New York, my parents, sister and I made our way over to Massachusettes for the huge family Christmas get-together. On Christmas Eve, there were more than thirty people in one house for dinner, and only thanks to the tireless efforts of certain aunts and uncles did the present opening that evening not fall into utter chaos. On Christmas day around twenty of us went to see Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring…that movie rules!

This weekend is Madfest.. Harper, Brian and I are planning to go. I’m very excited..I think we will see some amazing juggling, great shows, and heck, we may even win a competition or two.
